ABOUT

evolve: to develop gradually

The “evolution” of me really started in 2009, when my sister and I randomly decided to try to lose a little weight together.  Our strategy was simple: eat better, move more.As I started to run more, to eat better, I fell in love with new things in life, things that brought me a lot of joy!  I started running farther, loving the way my body responded to the challenge.  I started cooking more, trying new food combinations and recipes, being creative.  I started to learn (and believe) more about who God made me to be: a woman of beauty and strength, a woman free and secure.  And now, too, a mother!

I’m still learning, still growing, still becoming. I’d love to hear your story, too.

Most of what I write about here comes around three things: running (from marathon training to pregnant or postpartum running to just enjoying getting out there, sweating, and coming back clear headed and dog-tired), recipes (we eat mostly vegetarian and prefer to eat mostly whole foods, but we’re suckers for ice cream and anything peanut butter chocolate), and life (Leo and Kate and Mollyhouse projectsbooks, and adventures with friends and family).

Thank you for coming by and reading! I’d love to answer questions or hear feedback. Please say hi!

  1. Love the blog! How did you do so many marathons…I am really struggling through training for my first (and probably only!) Tomorrow I will run 19 miles (hopefully and God willing!) Keep up the wonderful work on the blog!

  2. LOVE the blog, Kimmie!!! Just got your Christmas letter today, so you know I had to check this out! I can see your writing is just as incredible as ever, and so are you! Let me know if you’re ever in Indy for a Marathon and I’ll come cheer you on. 🙂

  3. Ahh! So much in common! My husband and I have been married a lil more than 2 years and we bought our first house in April of ’10 and spent a ridiculous amount of time renovating our home. What you said about wanting your home to be a “blessing” is EXACTLY how we feel too! Love this! 🙂

  4. Just curious . . . you mentioned you lost 30 pounds in 2009. How did you do it? Just running or a specific eating plan as well? Thanks! I am enjoying reading your blog.

  5. Omg your cat looks EXACTLY like my cat that I found wondering around outside 2 years ago. I couldn’t believe it when I seen the picture of him.
