Sunday was my first mother’s day. I told Dave beforehand that I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it (I think it’s a nice idea but don’t feel a need to go crazy with gifts or anything like that). Instead, we had a perfect, lowkey family day. We started off with pancakes and coffee for breakfast, then while Leo napped I caught up on some laundry and cleaning (since we’d been gone for 2 weeks this felt really good and was exactly what I wanted to be doing!). We went for a family walk, ate lunch, then went shopping. On Saturday I realized I only had 1 short-sleeved shirt that really fit, which seemed like a problem now that it’s getting warmer! We went to JC Penney, Kohl’s, and Target. I finally found 3 tshirts at Target (here and here). After Target, we headed home. We hung out for a bit more (Leo napped), had zucchini noodles and roasted cauliflower for dinner, then went to Dave’s parents’ house to watch The Vow (which we both really liked). Home in time to put Leo to bed!
It was an awesome day!
So grateful for my little Gus and the chance to be his mom. And for my own mom who has been such an amazing example and support to me!
How did you spend mother’s day?
