birthentine weekend

Big weekend over here – Dave’s birthday (Sunday, February 12) and Valentine’s (we celebrated early) – BIRTHENTINE’S!

Friday night we had a family night and went to Starbucks to read.  Leo was a smash hit with everyone, of course!

Saturday morning I cranked out my long run – 15 miles.  I finished in 2:32:18, 10:09 pace.  I took one small stop break to go to the bathroom and three very short walk breaks for water and GU chomps – I ate them at miles 6, 10, and 13.  It was a huge confidence boost for me because I felt really strong the entire run and finished feeling tired but not completely spent.  And I set a new treadmill distance record for myself!

Saturday afternoon Leo got his 6 month pictures taken!  Sneak peek:

Can’t wait to see them all!  Also, how is it possible Leo is 6 months already?!?

Saturday night also had some mudslides, in honor of Dave’s birthday eve:

Dave’s 30th birthday Sunday celebration:

  • church
  • gnocchi for lunch
  • cake batter milkshake
  • nap
  • dinner out at Flat Top Grill (our birthday/Valentine’s dinner)
  • free fresh Krispy Kreme donuts
  • mudslides and watching the Grammy’s (we found it streaming online from some Canadian television station)

All in all, it was a great great weekend (with lots of ice cream!).  Happy 30th birthday, Dave!!

What were you up to this weekend?

  1. Happy birthday, Dave. Happy 6 months, Leo. Happy “holy cow” run, Kim! It’s just celebrations all around. I’m seriously amazed at the 15 miles on the treadmill. I barely managed 8 (mentally) outside this weekend.

P.S. I really think Leo and Miles share a wardrobe because that outfit in the photo looks super familiar. It’s hard being so stylish for those guys 🙂

  2. Yay! Happy Bday to Dave! That’s alot of miles on the ol’ treadmill!

Why did you have to stream the grammy’s? Do you not have TV? I’m asking because we don’t have TV so we have to stream stuff too.

  3. Happy birthday Dave! And wow, six months!! It’s such a milestone. Happy half a year, Leo!
Kim, you never fail to impress me with your running dedication. 15 miles is CRAZY!!! But in a good way! 🙂

  4. Happy birthday Dave! I like reading his guest posts. And I can’t believe Leo is 6 months, it feels like it was just a few months ago I started reading your blog, but it must be close to a year now already! Time flies when you’re reading about the adventures of great people like yourself. 🙂
