Dave got a decadent breakfast this morning: steel cut oatmeal with carmelized bananas, peanut butter, and chocolate chips.

I sauteed the sliced bananas over medium low heat for 3-4 minutes with a tablespoon of butter and a few spoonfuls of brown sugar.  From the recipes I saw online, I should have added rum to them, too, but I didn’t have any on hand.  So I guess these are faux carmelized bananas!

  1. YUM! It’s probably a tad bit early for rum anyway 😉 I’m having a similar breakfast of oatmeal, pb and agave or honey. No chocolate for me, boo. But seriously, pb and banana- food of the gods.
