32 weeks

Dave had a good idea for the picture this week.  Unfortunately my already-uncoordinated-now-als0-pregnant self wasn’t very cooperative…

Traditional shot:

I’m starting to feel genuinely big.  I know in 8 more weeks I’ll look back and think “ha – that was nothing.”  Still, right now I’ll pass a mirror and it still catches me off guard.  That is no longer just a baby “bump.”  Proof: strangers now ask me when I’m due.  You know you’ve reached “looking pregnant” when people risk asking you your due date (I’m normally too chicken on the off chance that I make a mistake and then it’s just terrible and awkward).

Have you ever asked someone their due date and found out they weren’t pregnant?  I haven’t but man, that would be awkward.

Reader recipe poll winner was a tie – leek, asparagus, herb soup and cucumber avocado soup!  I’ll make one of them for Friday and give the recipe for both!

Don’t forget to check out the Pregnancy tab for a week by week view!

  1. I haven’t ever asked anybody and found out they aren’t, but I’ve had it happen to me when someone asked if I was pregnant. It was a bit awkward. Thankfully I didn’t feel too bad about it since I was pretty skinny at that point, but the lady felt really bad. I think I felt more bad for her than I did for me. 🙂

  2. I am always afraid that I will ask them when they are due and they won’t be preggers! I just don’t ask at all until they say something..hahaha. You look so cute and love the jumping shots this week 🙂

  3. I was asked about 4 months ago if I was pregnant. It was honestly one of the worst things to happen to me. Any body image progress I had made was shattered into a million pieces.

    You look great!

  4. you are gorgeous!!!!!! i love getting to watch you grow from afar!
so – when i worked for an adoption agency i was doing a homestudy for a stepparent adoption. this couple had 1 child of their own, plus the wife had an older child that her husband was adopting. the wife appeared to not only be wearing a maternity shirt, but also looked (bigger than you!) like 8 months pregnant. so THANKFULLY i ‘tactfully’ worded it, ‘are you guys excited about expanding your family?’ and they replied, ‘yeah, we hope that someday we might have more children.’ i have no idea what happened after that during the visit because all i was thinking was how close i came to something super offensive!

  5. Kim, I didn’t know you were pregnant! Congratulations! Being a mom is my favorite thing ever. You will be great! So glad to know you have a blog. 🙂

  6. Aww, I love the jumping idea. Even if it didn’t work out so well, hee hee. I have never asked when someone was due, but have wondered sometimes if a person was pregnant or not!
