Here’s a rundown of some pregnancy-type stuff:
baby’s size: 2.5 pounds and 15 inches long, about the size of a butternut squash!
Here are the clothes I pretty much live in:
- 1 non-maternity black sundress
- 1 non-maternity black wrap dress
- 4 maternity dresses
- 1 pair of maternity jeans (Old Navy)
- 1 pair of non-maternity khaki shorts (Old Navy)
- 5 non-maternity tshirts (Target, Old Navy)
- workout clothes are mostly non-maternity, except for the running skirts and shirt. I wear those 2 a lot.
There might be a handful of other things I wear, but those are the basics I use to get by. Since I’m only in the office 1 or 2 days a week, the dresses suffice. And the tshirts can be worn repeatedly during the week while I’m just working at home. No shame!
weight gain: So far I’m at 15 pounds.
birth classes: We start tonight!
activity: Running is out, but walking feels great! I’m able to do about 5 miles everyday without any issue. Sometimes I want to run to see how it will be, but I can intuitively feel that my body isn’t ready for it. So I keep walking! I try to keep a faster pace to at least get my heart rate up a little bit.
foods I love: Carbs. Weekend fries. Frozen strawberries. Simple bread and butter, untoasted.
foods I don’t love: Leftovers. Veggies are okay, but I don’t naturally gravitate toward them.
smells I hate: Hummus. Every time Dave eats some I move in the opposite direction. It smells foul to me.
sleep: Comes and goes. I either sleep awesome or I don’t sleep at all. In general, I’m physically comfortable, I just can’t sleep. We might get melatonin this week for me to try out, but we’re also seeing what happens if I don’t eat any chocolate from about 3pm on. Even though I didn’t eat much chocolate (a small handful of chocolate chips), I’m also not used to caffeine, so we’re wondering if the little bit of chocolate is screwing with my sleep.
belly button: Still in. Getting flatter though.
swelling: By the end of my walk my fingers will be sausages, but it goes away pretty quickly. Haven’t noticed much swelling, if any, in my feet.
energy: In general, I feel good. I have tired moments, but if I rest for a little bit my energy seems to rebound, too. Baby boy seems to have lots of energy as well! It’s fun seeing my whole stomach move as he does!
times a day I pee: Honestly, I always drank a lot of water, so I haven’t really noticed much of a change. I probably go once an hour, but sometimes less. And always once during the night, right about 1:30am.
things I’m excited about: Getting the nursery set up now that it’s all painted (thanks, Dave!!!). Organizing all the baby things. And, more than anything, meeting him and spending time with him and Dave!
