me and you both, Mosie

It’s a tired kind of day.

I got my glucose test results back and they were a smidge high, so I have to go back for the 3 hour test on Friday.  I don’t even know what that means, but I know a bunch of you put in the comments that the 3 hour test is the worst!  I’m going to look at the bright side and see it as lots of reading time.  Hopefully it’s just a fluke – I also know some of you said you failed the regular test but always passed the 3 hour.  Funsies!  I think baby boy is just playing games with me!

My iron levels all looked great, which made me really happy.  Proof you can eat a mostly vegetarian diet while pregnant and still get what you need!

Random pregnancy thing: leftovers never sound good to me anymore.  Well, I shouldn’t say “never” but rarely.  It always tastes great when I make it, but when I see leftovers in the fridge afterwards I always skirt around them.

Leftovers: love them or hate them?  I don’t normally have a problem eating leftovers, but it’s funny how pregnancy has given me an aversion to them (but I still try to make myself eat them).

  1. I’m one of those who failed the 1 hour and had to take the 3 hour. I passed the 3 hour, and I’m sure you will too! Definitely some good reading time! And treat yourself to a REALLY yummy lunch out afterwards. 🙂

  2. Me three on being tired! I want to hide a sleeping blanket under my desk so I can take naps during the day.

Such a bummer on the glucose test. The girls I’ve known who have had to take the 3-hour test all passed and didn’t have to do anything after that. I have my fingers crossed!

As far as leftovers, I guess I love them. I usually plan one day a week to eat leftovers or repurpose leftovers into a new dish. I can only eat something once more before getting burnt out, though.

  3. Did they give you any instructions for the 3 hour test? Like how you shouldn’t eat much for 12 hours before? That’s what my dr told me both times. I think I only had to do the 3 hour with my first, cant’ remember! Good luck, I know you will be fine!

  4. I mentioned that I failed the one hour with both of my girls, passed the 3-hour test with my first baby, failed it with my second baby. I hate the three hour test because you can’t eat anything after midnight, drink that sugary drink with nothing in your stomach and pray that you don’t get morning sickness. Then you get poked on four different times, right before the sugary drink, every hour for three hours afterwards.

I have no doubt that you will pass it but if you happen to fail it, I so thought I was going to pass with baby no. 2, it’s not as bad as it is made out to be. I had a hard time dealing with the no sugar thing because ice cream was my main staple but it really did help me learn a lot about food. The grill became my best friend during that time.

  5. Sorry to hear about having to do the three hour test. I, too, have known a number of girls who had to do the three hour test and passed it. You should plan a really special, rewarding meal after you’re done!

Leftovers – bluck, unless it’s soup – then I don’t mind. Or dessert. I don’t mind leftover dessert either. 🙂

  6. I failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hr. You will get through it. I’d recommend having your hubby available to drive you home though. I was really sick after mine.

    Leftovers? yuck

  7. oh my word – hilarious! i HATED leftovers when pregnant too! ha – joel didn’t care one bit but sometimes ate casserole for four days 🙂
