my first baby shower

24 weeks!  I got the hands reversed.  My bad.

This past weekend I got to spend time with 3 of my best friends – wonderful women I’ve known since elementary/middle school and their men!

I’ve known Rebecca for 19 years (holy cow!), Rachel for 13 years, and Paula for 15.  Crazy!

Because we all have busy summers and are spread out (Rachel in northern Ohio, Paula in southern Ohio, Bec in Pennsylvania), they threw me a baby shower this weekend, too!  My first shower!  It was laid back and relaxed – a lot like just hanging out – but so great!  I felt really blessed and was so excited to get home and show the stuff to Dave!  A couple of the awesome items they gave us:

  • Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies and Henry and the Crazed Chicken Pirates – hilarious!
  • super cute giraffe outfit!
  • stupid Patriots onesie and awesome Colts onesie!

We also went out to lunch in Slippery Rock, PA, at the Schoolhouse Cafe.  I had a veggie wrap with cucumber-wasabi dressing that, depending on the bite, cleared out my sinuses.  We also had some to-die-for chocolate layer cake.

It was a short weekend but so good to be together again!

What’s your longest friendship?  Bec is mine – we’ve known each other since second grade!

Don’t forget to vote in the reader recipe poll!

  1. So sweet! Yay for baby stuff! It makes me all teary since my little guy turns 1 today… I need to pack up all his little clothes. Enjoy these last few months!

My longest friend is from Jr High. I still have friends from elementary too, but not that I keep in contact with regularly.

  2. I’ve known my friend Lauren almost 20 years! And everyone in my upcoming wedding I’ve known for at least 10 years. I can’t function without my besties! 🙂

  3. Aww, your first shower! Hee hee. I had to give my friend a Cubs onesie, even though I am not a fan. (She lives in NYC and is a Yankees fan – I know, those are baseball teams, and that is football, but same idea, right?)

I have not been able to hold on to friends for very long. I don’t talk to anyone from high school or before and barely communicate with my college friends 😦
