march runs (and walks)

My last run for March ended up being both a win and a fail.  I decided to run – literally – some errands.  I took insurance papers up to the office where we’ll have our ultrasound on Monday, then headed to the grocery store.  I almost bailed and just ran home, because I was feeling tired, but I decided to stick it out.  WIN.  My legs started to loosen up and I felt pretty good.  I got to the grocery store and picked up what I needed.  WIN.  Apparently I didn’t really think ahead about bringing those items home with me.  A butternut squash, a tub of greek yogurt, and a box of chopped broccoli don’t really sit comfortably in a drawstring backpack.  FAIL.  Guess what else?  They don’t run well on your back – they’re knobby and dig in, they’re heavy, and the strings on the backpack really start to dig in to your shoulders.  FAIL.  I ended up walking most of the way from the grocery store.  But I also walked past the library, where I picked up a book I had on hold.  WIN.

In the end, I ran 4 miles and walked about 1.  Could be worse!
