sunrise drive

Talk about a crazy-close reader recipe poll!  Broccoli macaroni and cheese and greek yogurt mac and cheese tied with 13 votes, and butternut squash mac and cheese was only 1 vote behind.  Here’s the deal: I’m going to combine all three recipes into one super recipe: butternut squash greek yogurt broccoli macaroni and cheese.  It’s a mouthful, but let’s hope a delicious one.  We’ll find out Friday morning with the recipe and review!

Caught a beautiful sunrise this morning on my drive down to work.  These grainy, blurry cell-phone pictures capture about 10% of how pretty it was:

Perhaps the most beautiful sunrise I ever saw was at the Grand Canyon with Nicole.  It was so gorgeous – both in the sky and in the way the light played on the different colors and layers of rock.

(Again: pictures that don’t do it justice.)

What’s the most beautiful sunrise (or sunset) you’ve ever seen?

  1. Awww. I once watched the sun rise over Avila Beach in California, and I thought I could die at that moment- I had seen the most beautiful thing ever. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  2. Sunset: Ireland at the Cliffs of Moher (west coast). We spent the whole afternoon hiking along these cliffs, peering over the edge into the sea below. The day ended with the most splendid sunset.

Sunrise: Phoenix, Arizona, summer 2002. I woke up ungodly early one morning, went outside to sit on the step and realized the most amazing sunrise was occurring at that moment. I jumped in my car and drove the 10 minutes to the edge of the desert, where you can see mountains in the four cardinal directions…and I watched breathlessly.

I love the moments when God’s array of colors, his imagination, and his love of beauty are combined into one event or one moment.
